19th November 2013
Plans to transform the former Sugar Beet Plant at Allscott, Telford into a mixed development featuring new homes, a primary school and sports facilities will be on show at a public exhibition on Monday 25th November.
Northern Trust Company Ltd, which is working with the landowner to regenerate the site, will be hosting the exhibition event between 5:00pm and 7:30pm at Allscott Sports & Social Club, Shawbirch Road, TF6 5EZ.
Northern Trust has been working with the local community to develop the plans since October 2012, and the results of a previous consultation event held in November last year showed 91% support for the regeneration of the site with the provision of open space and new homes highly favoured.
A spokesperson for Northern Trust commented “We have spent a lot of time working with the local community and key stakeholders on formulating these plans and ensuring the proposals deliver a scheme which fits into the existing community and improves the infrastructure and services for the area.
We feel our plans for the site have improved as a result of our community consultation and look forward to showcasing the illustrative plans at the exhibition.”
It is expected that a planning application will be submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council before the end of the year.
More details of the event can be found on the dedicated website at www.shawbirchroad.co.uk or you can email sharbirchroad@northerntrust.co.uk for more information.
