The village situated 5.5 miles west of Durham, 10 miles south-east of Consett and 11 miles north of Bishop Auckland. The B6302 provides access to the Durham to the east and Tow Law to the west. Junction 62 of the A1(M) is 8 miles away providing excellent transport links to the rest of the region.
